Parades
07/06/2006
Hope all of you had a wonderful 4th of July. It was a busy day for parades and
I want to thank everyone that took time to participate in parades supporting our
wonderful slate of candidates. It was a great day recognizing 230 years of our
countries independence.
The DFL float joined many, many volunteers supporting Tim Walz, Amy
Kolbuchar, Mike Hatch, Matt Entenza, Mark Ritchie, Rebecca Ott and the local
candidates from each Senate District we traveled to. A big group of these
volunteers joined the candidates and float at 4 different community parades,
Albert Lea, St Peter, Blooming Prairie and Stewartville. There was an amazing
number of parade watchers at every parade and the DFL candidates were well
received every where. Al Franken was a big hit at the St Peter parade. He
walked and danced through the whole thing. What a hoot. There had to be
two hundred or more walkers for the different candidates at this parade.
What a great showing they made. I want to express a big thank you to everyone
that gave of their time to support their candidates. You all were a wonderful
asset at every parade. I can’t say enough about all the supporters that traveled
to every parade, walked and handed out the candidates stickers or leaflets,
carried signs and banners. I sure do thank everyone that helped set up and
take down the float it was a great help getting us to every parade.Your energy
and enthusiasm is just amazing. I thank the union members that turned
out to support the candidates. How about all the kids and dogs that joined in?
It was a wonderful DFL showing and a great 4th of July. Thank you one and all.
