Pawlenty picks wife’s successor on bench

Gov. Tim Pawlenty on Tuesday selected attorney Shawn Moynihan to fill a vacancy in the Dakota County judicial ranks. His predecessor was first lady Mary Pawlenty, who gave up her judgeship in February.

Moynihan, of Hastings, has been an attorney in a private firm he helped found.
