Pawlenty seeks sesquicentennial panel members

Gov. Tim Pawlenty is seeking applicants for a new commission that will plan the celebration of Minnesota’s 150th anniversary of statehood in 2008.

He will appoint nine members of the Minnesota Sesquicentennial Commission, representing major corporate, nonprofit and public sectors. Eight other members will be named by the Legislature. The Minnesota Historical Society will provide a staff for the commission.

Application forms are available online at http://www.sos.state.mn.us. The deadline for submission of applications, resumes and letters of recommendation is Sept. 27.
