activist training from June 3rd-6th in Washington, DC at American
University. Spaces are still available and the cost is extremely cheap.

A Little About 21st Century Democrats:
21st Century Democrats provides professional training by top
Democratic campaigners and organizers on the fundamentals of
campaigning and the practical, real-life skills of voter contact and
Get-Out-The-Vote. Segments include: Writing a Field Plan, Volunteer
Recruitment and Management, Targeting, Planning and Budgeting, GOTV,
Voter Contact Strategies and more. Students will complete a campaign
simulation that will teach them the skills to take their candidate
from a campaign plan through Election Day.
21st Century Democrats has the largest and most comprehensive
Democratic campaign training. Previous trainers have included: John
Lapp, DCCC; Ken Strasma, NCEC; Luis Navarro, ACT; Regina Thomas, NJ
Secretary of State, Laurie Moskowitz, Field Works; Nadia Garnett, DNC
Voting Rights Institute; and Paul Tewes, DSCC.
You will be trained in:
Field Director and Campaign Manager trainees will get an overview of
all components of campaigns including message, fundraising, earned
media and management with a focus on direct voter contact strategies
and grass roots organizing. Specifically topics will include:
Writing and executing a field plan
Targeting
Earned Media
Voter file management and Voter Identification / Persuasion
Building and running door-to-door canvasses and volunteer phone banks
Coalition building and volunteer recruitment
Working with Democratic constituencies
Community and political outreach
Voter registration strategies
Fundraising
Planning and executing Get Out The Vote
