Port Security and the Drug Trade
03/01/2006
It has been reported that one third of the Afghan economy is based on the sale of poppies and their derivitives.
America is awash in illegal poppy based drugs.
How are they getting here?
Are they coming in through our uninspected ports?
How about in international aircraft that carry passengers and maybe a little something else too.
Is crew luggage always checked after landing?
Everyone is worried about bombs. The bigger bomb might be one containing poppy derivitives.
Will foreign port managers check for contraband? How will we know since they do not inspect containers.
