On Monday night Jan. 23, the Post Bulletin is holding a Post Bulletin Dialogue at 7:00PM at the Rochester Public Library.

The topic will be how to get your news, stories and opinions into the paper.  I know many DFLers have questions about information published by the Post Bulletin so this will be a great opportunity to talk with the Post Bulletin editor and staff.

Information from Jay Furst Post Bulletin Blog:

GET NEWS INTO THE PAPER: Some people don’t want their names in the paper, but many others do.

On Monday night at the Rochester Public Library, I’ll tell you how to get your news, stories and opinions into the paper.

At 7 p.m., we’ll have our first Post-Bulletin Dialogues meeting of the year. I’ll be joined by a few other P-B editors who will talk about the changing definition of local news, how individuals and organizations can get their news into the paper and when we publish different types of news items.

We publish more than a thousand letters to the editor every year, for example, and Greg Sellnow, the editorial page coordinator, will talk about the process and guidelines for getting your letters published.

It’s a free hour-long get-together and you’re invited to join us for doughnuts and coffee. In February, the Dialogues meeting will be in tandem with the Rochester Reads program, which we co-sponsor with the Rochester library and schools.
