Pre-emptive Strike on NK is an Over-reaction

There is a lot of missile rattling going on right now between North Korea and the USA. North Korea seeks to use missile technology to force unilateral talks with the USA while the USA is talking about using pre-emptive strikes to take the NK missile out before it is test fired.

We think the USA should advise NK of the consequences of a test firing which should be as follows:

1. Diplomatic Isolation;
2. Trade Isolation;
3. Military Isolation;
4. Food Isolation;
5. Medicine Isolation;
6. Economic and Banking Isolation.

If the missile is test fired then sanctions assuring that NK is shunned by the civilized world should be implemented by the UN and its member nations with agreement that any nation that violates the sanctions should lose its UN membership and itself be shunned.

That should also stand as a good example to Iraq.

There is no need for a pre-emptive strike. A test firing is just not an immediate threat to America. Besides, the NK missile has a good chance of failing just as the other test firings have done. In our opinion a pre-emptive strike is an over-reaction to a future threat. We suggest that the Bush Administration just cool down.
