Proposed tax rates

A DFL proposal up for a vote in the state Senate today would set a new top tax rate of 9.7 percent on the state's highest earners. Taxpayers would pay the highest rate on any income over the thresholds shown below:

Married couples: $250,000

Single taxpayers: $141, 250

Heads of households: $212
