Putin and “The Minster of Propaganda”

We had a good chuckle when we read that Vladimir Putin implied that Bush was the Minister of Propaganda for America. He did that in the self-effacing way that Russians have when they want to deliver a jab to the ribs when he said: “Me, I’m not the propaganda minister for Russia.”
Boy does he ever have that one wrong. Bush is not the Propaganda Minister for America either he’s just the spokesperson for the Ministry of Propaganda.
Who then is the Minister of Propoganda? Where is all of this dirty pool being directed from? We would point the finger at Dick Chaney’s office. That is where Condoleeza Rice had to clear all of her public statements with. The evidence is high that his office is a shadow presidency.
What was so funny was that Bush didn’t even get it. His entourage must of though and maybe someone will explain it to Laura so she can pass it on to the president.
By now Democrats should be onto the ways of the GOP. They use roughly the same methods for both campaigning and for governing. It goes like this:
- Identify the issue of political importance to the neo-con’s;
- Frame the issue so as to split the nation over it;
- State what you want the outcome to be and then assure polarization;
- Close all doors on any alternatives to your desired outcome;
- Bring on paid writers and hacks to give you media coverage for your position;
- When the opposition starts to close in on you then throw out bogus wedge issues that divert the public away from the truth. These should preferably the issues of faith and morality. Have the Christian Right split the nation over their position to keep the debate on the diversion going. Make sure the GOP is on the side of the Catholic Church’s position which now has the largest coherent majority in America.
- While the diversions are running then go into the back room of the Party and muzzle any who would testify against your position.
- Lie in order to distort the truth and in order to get your way.
- Go to Representatives and Senators and threaten to throw them out of the Party unless they support your position.
- Put it to a trackable vote only if necessary, otherwise try to slip it into an omnibus bill that people have less than 48 hours to read before they must vote on it.
- Throw a celebration Party and invite those whom you coerced and thank them for their help.
- When opponents point the finger of blame then refuse to admit any error. If people point at crimes committed in the process of manipulating events, people, and groups, don’t worry about it, the GOP owns the police station and is working to grab the Courts.
I suspect there is more in there that I missed but someone is sure to figure it out and share it with us.
Well Putin has Bush’s number, the Democrats have his M.O., and the electorate is getting on to him too, but its too late for preventative action. If we keep exposing Bush and the GOP machine though then by the time the 2006 election comes around then even those who think Bush walks on water today might come to vote Democratic tomorrow.
We Democrats only need about 4%-5% more of the voters and that is an advantage for us of the Bush method of splitting the electorate. It takes very little extra to have a plurality. That is true for both Parties. The voter bank account, job retention, and a failure of the GOP to act on any of these wedge issues now that they are in total control of government will tell voters that it’s time for change. Howard Dean should be able to get 4-5% more of the swing and undecided voters if he works at it.
All we Democrats have to do is keep exposing the output from the Ministry of Propaganda. In time people will “get it.”
