I too noticed the low number of attendees.  It made me wonder how they managed to get so much news coverage with such a small event.  I have two thoughts on that. 

(1) The presence of the governor made the event newsworthy. 

(2) In smaller communities the press is very dependent on Chamber of Commerce members for advertising revenue, and I have noticed that more and more of our local media is becoming not only Republican leaning, but parroting Rush Limbaugh style rhetoric.  My local newspaper, The Daily Globe, is a case in point.  There is not much we can do about this.  It is part of our “campaign universe” so to speak.

We can turn Pawlenty’s labeling against him.  People are sooooooo tired of the name calling.  I agree, people from the Bemiji area should write letters to the editor to that effect.
