Rep. Andy Welti Delivers For His District

Rep. Andy Welti represents a diverse District in our legislative area having urban, rural, and small town constituencies to represent. His large workload of Chief Authored MN House Legislative Bills represents that diversity and the associated workload.

Andy has been burning the midnight oil this season and he is showing his knowledge about certain sectors of state government such as farming and agriculture that few people are knowledgeable about. He is the chief author of 22 Legislative Bills in the Minnesota House of Representatives. He is the co-author of another 110 Legislative Bills.

Andy is performing valuable work and people from all across our State benefit from his efforts.

HF2337 Earth and space, life, and physical sciences assessment in grades 10 through 12 provided.
HF2336 Board of Electricity fund transfer repealed, and money appropriated.
HF2319 Prostate cancer screening program established, and money appropriated.
HF2302 Great River Ridge Trail funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
HF2278 Propane prepurchase program established, and consumer protections provided to delivered-fuel customers.
HF1878 Public Employees Retirement Association service credit purchase for community education employment authorized.
HF1787 Agricultural chemical incident provisions modified, and application and inspection fee eliminated.
HF1717 Transportation aid for flexible learning year programs authorized.
HF1565 Consolidating school districts state aid increased.
HF1501 Residential heating fuels sales tax exemption expanded to include all fuels except natural gas and electricity.
HF1303 Open meeting law; meetings by telephones or other electronic means authorized under certain conditions, and closed meeting requirements modified.
HF1000 Consolidating school districts account flexibility created; and Independent School District No. 2899, Plainview-Elgin-Millville, fund balance adjustment authorized.
HF0954 Agricultural research funding provided to the University of Minnesota, and money appropriated.
HF0919 Elgin, Eyota, Byron, and Oronoco authorized to act as small cities for purposes of use of revenues from certain economic development districts.
HF0839 Debt service equalization aid program state aid increased, and money appropriated.
HF0697 Chester Woods Trail funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
HF0666 Dairy animal revolving loan program established, and money appropriated.
HF0522 Glass containers prohibited on public beaches and watercraft, and proper disposal required of waste carried on state waters.
HF0406 Small city definition modified relating to tax increment financing.
HF0361 Regional investment income and franchise tax credit provided.
HF0295 State employee energy savings suggestions incentives provided.

As we present this perspectives series on DFL Legislators to the State Legislature we hope that you appreciate their heavy workload plus realize the individual and collective contributions that they are making to the quality of life in Minesota. We also hope that you will continue to give them your support and congratulations when they succeed in getting some of this very controversial legislation passed. We know that you will be sensitive to their despair when legislation that they believe to be vital and that they worked hard to get passed is set-aside.
