The Republican National Committee will hold its annual summer meeting today and Friday in Bloomington, where party members will plot election-year strategy.

“I think this is the last time the committee will be together before the November elections,” said Ann Marie Hauser, regional press secretary for the RNC.

Hauser said the party is “gearing up to get the troops motivated.”

Sara Taylor, director of political affairs at the White House, will be speaking today on strategy. Gov. Tim Pawlenty also will speak, addressing the importance of the party apparatus in elections.

GOP chairman Ken Mehlman will address the general session for members on Friday. The event will be held at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel.
