A Special Town Hall Forum Presentation on Universal Healthcare is coming to Rochester.
“Universal Health Care – What is it? Is it the answer?”
With Health Policy Expert Kip Sullivan and Physicians
The Town Hall Forum will offer explanation of the health care crisis in terms newcomers to the debate can understand. The presentation will offer focus on making health care affordable, accessible and accountable with regards to cost containment. Discussion including a question and answer session with local and regional physicians will follow.

Mr. Kip Sullivan, a Rochester native, has spent the past two decades researching the US health care system. He is one of Minnesota’s leading advocates for universal health care.
Mr. Sullivan has written more than 100 articles about health policies, which have appeared in newspapers (including the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times), magazines (including the Washington Monthly, The Nation, In These Times, and Z Magazine) and professional journals (including the New England Journal of Medicine, the American Journal of Public Health, and Health Affairs). He was an organizer for Minnesota COACT (Citizens Organized Acting Together) from 1980 through 2000. Since 2000, he has been a member of the steering committee of the Minnesota Universal Health Care Coalition, which consists of 14 groups including COACT, the Minnesota Farmers Union, the League of Women Voters, MAPE, the Minnesota Nurses Association, and Physicians for a National Health Program. In 1988, he sat on Governor Perpich’s Health Plan Regulatory Reform Commission.
