Scouting for Food 2006
11/10/2006
Rochester, MN (TRD)—On Saturday, November 11, local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will collect food donations to benefit to help feed people in need during their annual Scouting for Food collection for local food shelves programs including Channel One.
Last year the Olmsted County Scouts collected 42,899 pounds of food! We are hopeful that 2006 will be an even greater success!
To participate, place a bag of non-perishable food by your front door before 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The Scouts will pick up your food donation and deliver it to Channel One for inspection and distribution through the Olmsted County food shelf program.
The most requested food items for the drive include boxed dinners (i.e. Hamburger Helper), canned tuna, peanut butter, cereal, canned fruit, pasta and rice. Channel One and the Boy Scouts request that community members do not donate baby food and items in glass jars.
Thank you for all YOU do to help feed people in need!
