SD29 Nominating Convention

Minnesota Senate District 29 held its biennial convention on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Byron Elementary school. About 75 delegates met to endorse candidates for the 2006 elections and elect officers to serve for the next two years in SD 29.
The DFL endorsed candidate for State House District 29 A is Wes Urevig, a first time candidate for office. He is the president of the Southeastern Minnesota Building and Construction Trades.
The group endorsed Kim Norton as their candidate for 29B. Norton, is a member of the Rochester School Board and ran for the seat 2 years ago. She was narrowly defeated in that race.
The officers elected were Mary Petersson of Rochester, Chair; Spencer Stevens of Kasson, Associate Chair; Greg Holmseth of Byron, treasurer; Bernita Reding of Mantorville, secretary; and Diane Hellie of Rochester, Affirmative Action Officer.
