Sen. Lynch receives award from Arc of Minnesota

09/29/2007

(Rochester, MN) -- On October 27, 2007 Sen. Ann Lynch, DFL-Rochester, will be given the 2007 Legislator of the Year Award from Arc of Minnesota at their Annual Awards Banquet during their state convention in Duluth. The award recognizes Senator Lynch’s efforts to create a brighter future for individuals and families affected by disabilities.

“I am truly humbled to be recognized by Arc for my work on disability issues,” said Sen. Lynch.

In the 2007 legislative session, Sen. Lynch successfully authored and advocated for almost $1 million to go toward the Disability Linkage Line. The Disability Linkage Line provides information and assistance to people statewide who have questions about disabilities or chronic diseases.

“The Disability Linkage Line is frequently a life-line for people struggling to find resources and navigating confusing medical and social service systems.”

This is Sen. Lynch’s second legislative award of the year, having been recognized in August by the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) as a “2007 Outstanding Legislator” for working effectively to protect and preserve the future of Minnesota’s public schools by authoring legislation relating to school boards.

Sen. Lynch appreciates the input she receives from constituents. Anyone with comments or questions about issues facing the Legislature may contact Sen. Lynch at G-24 State Capitol, 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155, or
