Rallies to Stop Privatization and Protect Social Security

Join the fight to protect Social Security -

Over the past 60 days, administration officials have traveled the United
States touting their plan to move Social Security into risky private
accounts. But at every stop they were met by a well organized and visible
opposition. Progressives around the country, led by Americans United to
Protect Social Security , have
come together like never before to save Social Security and we’re winning
the fight!

But despite the fact that Americans are still overwhelmingly opposed to
privatization, President Bush continues to push his unpopular legislation
forward. This week, Congress will take the first step in restructuring this
critical program by holding hearings on Social Security in the US Senate.

Tuesday while the Senate meets to discuss the future of Social Security,
thousands of progressives will gather around the United States to tell our
Senators that we don’t want our retirement security jeopardized.

Wellstone Action is teaming up with Americans United to Protect Social
Security to put on rallies around the United States to show grassroots
support for Social Security.
