Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s spokesman is joining the governor’s reelection campaign.

Starting today, Brian McClung is taking an unpaid leave of absence to become communications director and spokesman for Pawlenty’s campaign.

McClung has been press secretary and director of communications in the governor’s office since September 2004.

His leave lasts through Nov. 12.
