St. Paul Fire Supervisors Endorse Al!
12/18/2007
SAINT PAUL [12/18/07] - The Al Franken for US Senate campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of the International Association of Fire Fighter's Local 3939, the St. Paul Fire Supervisor's Association.
Local 3939 President Patrick Smith released the following statement:
"I am proud to announce the endorsement of Al Franken for the United States Senate. The members of our union feel strongly that a voice for fire fighter issues has been non-existent from the White House and certainly from one seat in the senate from Minnesota. We believe Al Franken's strong work ethic and leadership will help us protect our members on the St. Paul Fire Department as well as those on other departments throughout the state.
"The challenges in public safety have become acute due to the lack of attention we have received from the state and federal governments. Al has listened to our concerns and we are confident he will help protect us so that we can protect the public!"
Al says:
"I'm proud that a group that we put so much faith in, has put their faith in me. I'll do my best to honor that faith and fight to help them provide the best protection for the public's safety - and their own. And I'll fight so they can have the tools necessary to work hand in hand with other first responders. They, and every Minnesotan, deserve to have two senators working to put the safety of the public first."
