Fellow Democratic-Farmer-Laborites,

The Communications Workers of America (CWA http://www.cwa-union.org ) have always been good friends and strong supporters of the DFL Party and have done incredible election work on behalf of our candidates.

There are over 4000 CWA members in Minnesota who are nearing the end of their contract with Qwest Communications. The workers have voted to authorize a strike if a fair settlement cannot be reached. Contract talks have been slow and CWA workers haven’t had a wage or pension increase since 2001, and are struggling to retain their health care benefits! I invite you to join them on Friday as they tell Qwest “We are the front line, not the bottom line!”
