Hi Everyone,

I finally get a couple hours at home after finishing with sign removal in rural Brown County, so I’ll take this time to thank all of you in CD 1 for giving so much of your time and energy over this entire election cycle to give us another successful election day!

Two years ago we added 5 DFL state house seats in southern Minnesota. This year we successfully defended those seats and added some new ones as well. Congratulations to newly elected house members, Ken Tschumper, Kim Norton, Robin Brown, Terry Morrow and Kathy Brynaert as well as our new state senators Ann Lynch, Sharon Ropes and Kathy Sheran! Our incumbants will continue to serve us thanks to their hard work - Jim Vickerman, Dan Sparks, Jeanne Poppe, Tina Liebling, Andy Welti, Gene Pelowski and Patti Fritz.

Our party unit leaders and volunteers in all 22 counties did a tremendous job this year in supporting our candidates, finding new volunteers, identifying new DFL voters and getting the vote out. Thank you so much for building this party! Let’s keep that work up for 2008 and beyond! (I hope to see many of you soon and thank you in person).

And thanks to the many staff people working full-time to make southern Minnesota bluer - Sarah Duevel (our full-time 1st CD field organizer), Mark Henson and our other Coordinated Campaign staffers - Nick, Erin, Matt, Jason and Nancy; and the many staff members from the house and senate caucus who spent the past several months in southern Minnesota. I hope I didn’t forget anyone on this!

And finally, thank you to Tim and the entire Walz campaign staff, volunteers, family members.....!!!!! No words can express the excitement we all felt on Tuesday night when your hard work, passion and dedication paid off for all of southern Minnesota! WOW!
