Dear Fellow Minnesotan:

I need your help to keep the Attorney General’s Office working for the people.

As Minnesota’s Solicitor General and Deputy Attorney General, it has been my privilege to help run an Attorney General’s Office that looks out for the interests of ordinary people.  I’m proud to be the DFL candidate for Attorney General.  As Attorney General, I will help ordinary citizens get the fair shake they deserve by:

• Continuing to aggressively police the HMO and health insurance industry.  When the squad car is parked on Main Street, people tend not to speed.  It is important that the Attorney General’s Office continue to stay engaged in the health insurance industry to check the excesses and abuses that hurt our citizens.

• Taking action against pharmaceutical companies that engage in unfair competition.  Pharmaceuticals comprise over 15 percent of the health care dollar.  In a climate of rising health insurance premiums that are squeezing both employers and individuals, it is important that this industry be held accountable for lawless behavior.

• Fighting to improve public safety.  There is a direct correlation between police officers in our communities and rates of crime.  I will use the bully-pulpit of the Attorney General’s Office to fight to restore the cuts to the Gang Strike Force and local government aid which have resulted in fewer police officers in our communities.

Many of the special interests I have opposed in the Attorney General’s Office will no doubt be working hard to elect my Republican opponent.  To counter such forces, I need to raise money quickly from ordinary people.  If you want to keep the Attorney General’s Office in the hands of the people—not the powerful—I ask that you make an online donation today of $100, $50, $35, or whatever you can afford.
