Time for Closure

02/15/2006

Paul Munnis

Like most Democrats we are sick and tired of the continuous disclosure of crime, corruption, and incompetence in the Bush Administration. A day does not pass without fresh waves of disclosure ranging from illegal spying, to mismanagement of key government agencies, to more and more GOP politicians being indicted or implicated in major fraud and crime. The behavior of our President and Vice President embarrasses our nation. The destruction of our government agencies and the mounting costs of incompetence are inexcusable. The misery they are visiting upon other people using our military is wrong.

We are past the point of disgust and it is going beyond a mere demand to throw the rascals out. It is reaching a point where we want closure. We want to cut our losses. We want to replace a poor, bad spirited, inept government with one that works. We want more ‘prosecution’ and less ‘GOP political solutions.’ We are disgusted with the GOP making excuses for bad government even as they compound the mess that they own and that is of their making. We want to clean out this nest of vipers that is the GOP and we don’t want it to persist until scheduled elections and maybe move on into lame duck status. The same idiots will still be in charge after the 2006 elections and they will still be running a poorly managed set of Agencies and Departments. Elections will not solve White House management incompetence and GOP wholesale awards of our government resources to companies like Halliburton.

We are sick of the GOP trying to blame their bad behavior on Democrats and bad computers and misunderstandings, and on other nations and other people. We are disgusted that they do not own up to their irresponsible actions and take responsibility as the first step in needed reform.

This cannot go on for three more years. We need more closure and less arrogance.
