A message from Senator Ann Lynch --

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of the victims of the tragic 35 W bridge collapse. I ask all Minnesotans to keep the rescue workers in their thoughts as they continue recovery efforts.

The bridge site is located in Senate District 59, home of Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller. Today (Friday) Governor Pawlenty met with legislative leadership to discuss possible legislative plans of action. I know that they share my commitment to ensuring that this tragic situation is never repeated. I have every confidence that collectively we will work to find solutions--for the safety of all Minnesotans. We cannot afford anything less.

For those of you who have travel plans in the Minneapolis area...The very latest metropolitan traffic information is available from the City of Minneapolis website at http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us The page dedicated to 35W updates is at http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/35wbridge/

In addition, there is a "traffic alerts" email listserv you can sign up for at http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/traffic/

As always, I welcome your questions, concerns and comments. It is a privilege to serve.

Ann
