VOTE YES!

11/06/2006

Dear Paul,

With a YES vote on Minnesota’s Transportation Amendment and votes for DFLers on the ticket - you can support better transportation, more affordable health care and good schools!  You can join the many DFL leaders and progressive groups in supporting Minnesota’s Transportation Amendment by casting a YES vote tomorrow at the polls.

On Friday, the Star Tribune strongly endorsed a YES vote on the transportation amendment. The editorial addresses concerns some have raised about the amendment’s impact on the general fund and the balance between metro and rural investments. Read it here:  http://www.startribune.com/561/story/784759.html

VOTE YES tomorrow and join the long list of fellow DFL supporters - Mike Hatch, DFL Caucus Leaders, Congressman Oberstar, Mayors Rybak and Coleman and the majority of DFL legislators. Eighteen labor unions including the Minnesota AFL-CIO, AFSCME Council 5, Amalgamated Transit Union, International Operating Engineers, Laborers, Carpenters and Joiners, Teamsters, Minnesota Building & Construction Trades Council and the United Transportation Union. Others include Transit for Livable Communities, the Central Corridor Partnership, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, Sierra Club, Minnesota League of Conservation Voters, the Minnesota Senior Federation, the League of Minnesota Cities and 66 Minnesota counties.

All of these people and groups are supporting the amendment because they know we can take a positive step forward on improving our roads and transit in every part of the state without harming other priorities.
