WALZ ANNOUNCES OVER $3 MILLION IN GRANTS TO AIRPORTS ACROSS SOUTHERN MINNESOTA

Washington, D.C.-Today, Representative Tim Walz announced more than $3 million in grants to airports across southern Minnesota. The United States Department of Transportation awarded the money in five separate grants for airport improvements.
"These funds are vitally important to Minnesota's rural development," Walz said. "Whether it's Blue Earth, St. James, Waseca, Owatonna, or Mankato, safe and quality air travel greatly increases the quality of life and economic opportunities for residents of southern Minnesota. I'm excited to see projects moving forward all across the district."
Mankato Regional Airport was awarded $1,823,158 to repair and rehabilitate a runway.
Owatonna Degner Regional Airport was awarded $491,000 to purchase snow-removal equipment and begin runway construction.
Blue Earth Municipal Airport was awarded $94,750 to upgrade their master plan.
Waseca Municipal Airport was awarded $415,200 to construct a new terminal building.
St. James Municipal Airport was awarded $446,713 to construct a new terminal building.
