Walz: District Ag Bill Hearings Scheduled

(Mankato, MN) - Congressman Tim Walz will hold federal Farm Bill discussions with local farmers and community leaders in Worthington, Luverne and Pipestone on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. He will also hold a Farm Bill discussion in Owatonna on Monday, February 26th.
"The Farm Bill is some of the most important legislation periodically considered by Congress," said Walz, a member of the House Agriculture Committee. "Minnesota has a unique opportunity to have a far-reaching impact during the upcoming Farm bill discussions in Congress. I am eager to gather input from farmers and local residents about what's working and what needs to be addressed in the 2007 Farm Bill."

The meetings are free and open to the public.
Public testimony will be taken at each meeting for an hour and a half in two minute increments. Participants are encouraged to prepare written testimony in addition to their public statement.
