Walz To Hold Farm Bill Meetings Across District

(Mankato, MN) - Congressman Tim Walz announced today he will hold federal Farm Bill discussions with local farmers and community leaders in Worthington, Luverne and Pipestone on Wednesday, February 21, 2007.

"The Farm Bill is some of the most important legislation periodically considered by Congress," said Walz, a member of the House Agriculture Committee. "Minnesota has a unique opportunity to have a far-reaching impact during the upcoming Farm bill discussions in Congress. I am eager to gather input from farmers and local residents about what's working and what needs to be addressed in the 2007 Farm Bill."

Below is the schedule of the Rep. Walz's events on February 21st:

· WORTHINGTON: 9:00 A.M.

Minnesota West and Community Technical College, Fine Arts Building Theater, 1450 Collegeway

· LUVERNE: Noon

Blue Mound Banquet Center, 401 West Hotting Street

· PIPESTONE: 3:00 P.M.

Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Room 127A, 1314 North Hiawatha

The meetings are free and open to the public.

Public testimony will be taken at each meeting for an hour and a half in two minute increments. Participants are encouraged to prepare written testimony in addition to their public statement.

Walz plans to hold meetings on the eastern side of the district on the 26th of February. Details will be announced next week.
