On Sunday, August 17, 2008, Senate District 15 of the DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor) Party will hold the Fourth Annual Paul and Sheila Wellstone Dinner, the largest event in Minnesota honoring the late United States Senator and his wife.

The theme for this year's dinner, reflecting the excitement and hope that is in evidence across the country, is "Ordinary People Remaking America." US Senator Amy Klobuchar will be the keynote speaker. Additionally, brief remarks will be made by Al Franken, DFL endorsed candidate for the United States Senate, and El Tinklenberg, DFL and Independence Party endorsed candidate for the United States House of Representatives in Minnesota Congressional District 6.

Attendees will be welcomed by Senate Assistant Majority Leader Tarryl Clark, who represents District 15 in the Minnesota Senate. The Wellstone and Mary McEvoy Awards will be presented by Representative Larry Haws (15B), Joanne Dorsher, Candidate in 15A, Representative Larry Hosch (14B), and Rob Jacobs, Candidate in 14A.

There will also be a silent auction. Tickets ($50) for the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Dinner, St. Cloud Civic Center, Sunday, Aug. 17, 6p.m., and also for the Private Reception, Radisson Hotel, 4:15-5:30 p.m. Deadline for purchasing tickets is Wednesday, August 13.
