Wetterling: 2006 Support Needed

Fellow DFLers,

There are only 27 hours remaining before my critical June 30th fundraising deadline. Thank you to our early supporters!

We are halfway through the year and have 10,686 individual financial supporters.

A few days ago, I shared with you my background as a math teacher and asked for your help with a little math equation. If each one of my supporters recruits just one other person and each of them gives $35 we will have doubled our supporters and vastly increased our money.

Why is this important???

One year away from the campaign, the early donors are the building blocks of our grassroots efforts. The most important commodity for any campaign is votes on election day. Our grassroots team is going to organize and turn people out to the polls like never before and not just our Democratic base. Our current roster of supporters includes Democrats, Republicans, independents, and just regular everyday people who are investing early because they believe they can make a difference.

Just today, the national Democratic party sent out an email stating that in 2004 “The Democratic candidates proved a new model—that ordinary people giving $50 here and there could actually finance a campaign.”
