Wetterling: Fund Raising on track

Recently, the Wetterling campaign hit a major milestone—over 10,000 people have become donors, and all in less than three months!

Patty has always been committed to running a broad-based, grassroots campaign, and she is thrilled at how many people have joined the effort in such a short amount of time. On Tuesday, she met with the 10,000th donor, Andrew Jacobson. To show her thanks for Andrew’s generous $50 contribution helping her hit the mark of 10,000 donors, Patty invited him to join her for dinner and a discussion of politics and the campaign.

Andrew, a native of Kansas who now lives in Shoreview, says that he has been feeling disillusioned with politics over the past few elections, but that Patty has rekindled his interest. Andrew says that Patty is “not a typical politician—she’s a natural-type of person, something that you don’t see very often anymore in politics.” Andrew is no stranger to folks working to help others; his father works in public service, and his mother works in the public school system. “One of the things that I like most about Patty is that she reminds me of my mother—approximately the same age, a former teacher… just an everyday person.”
