Wetterling Support Appeal

Dear DFL Members and Supporters,

I am a person of faith, hope and belief in the future of this state and country.

Throughout my life, I have channeled my energy into helping others. I have been a school teacher, family business owner, child advocate, community safety trainer and now want to be a citizen legislator.

When Senator Mark Dayton decided not to run again, I began receiving encouragement from friends, family, neighbors, and real people across the state of Minnesota and our country to run for the U.S. Senate. After much consideration, I feel it is my duty to actively explore this opportunity to serve.

I am not a professional politician and I am proud of that. I have no personal agenda but instead seek to be a truth-teller and a voice for the people of Minnesota. I will bring my passion and fighting spirit to issues that affect our state.

I have no illusions that the next 19 months will be easy. I’ve been through it. I know what it’s like to be in a high profile national race. If there’s one thing people know about me, it’s that I’m tough, I’m persistent and I will stay true to my beliefs. I believe I am the best person to ensure we keep this seat!

“Wetterling would begin the race in a stronger position than other potential Democratic candidates. She has the highest favorable rating of any potential candidate on either side of the aisle and is the only candidate who is well known and well liked statewide. Thousands of you were engaged in the last election, fighting for change. I am so grateful to the people of Minnesota who have carried me through so much and today I need you once again.
