What happened last night
11/17/2005
Dear Editor,
From a meeting powered by a generator in New Orleans to meetings by Democrats Abroad in twenty foreign countries, last night Democrats from around the world gathered together in more than 1,000 communities to organize for the 2006 elections and beyond.
I hope you understand how unprecedented these meeting were—elections are still one year away and already we have begun the work of building what will be the largest mobilization of Democrats in our party’s history.
Governor Dean discussed our organizing strategy and took questions with tens of thousands of Democrats on the line. If you attended one of the meetings you know how special this moment was.
If you couldn’t attend an National Organizing Kickoff meeting, you can see pictures and read stories from those who attended meetings by visiting:

Keep coming back to that link—we are adding more photos to the slide show as they come in. On that page you’ll be able find stories from hosts and attendees both during the run-up and after the events.
Last night was the beginning of something big—thank you for being a part of this historic effort to organize and build a party that will fight for every vote, in every state, in every election.
Thank you,
Jason Leon
Deputy Political Director for Grassroots
Democratic National Committee
